Interview/Discussion: That’s Why I Chose YalePosted by Brian Niles on January 27, 2010Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to interview Andrew Johnson, a senior assistant director of admissions at Yale University and director, producer and writer of the now-popular and viral video, “That’s Why I Chose Yale.” I was joined by two of my friends, Jeff Kallay (TargetX’s VP for Consulting) and Abby Laporte (high school senior and host of Abby’s Road). (If you have not seen the Yale “admissions musical”, I’ve included it below our discussion video) Interview with Andrew Johnson, Jeff Kallay, Abby Laporte and Brian Niles “That’s Why I Chose Yale” Video via YouTube HD 6 Responses to “Interview/Discussion: That’s Why I Chose Yale”Leave a Reply |

Thought the video was great. It sounds kind of funny, but the production quality is so high that it almost takes away from what I think is a pretty high level of authenticity. It’s so polished that it feels like a professional marketing video, which it apparently is not.
Hearing that it was initially meant for viewing before info sessions and not for distribution online, it now makes more sense that the video is over 15 minutes long.
Kudos to Yale, and thanks for getting the behind-the-scenes story!
