Tools and Strategies for Automation and Data Validation in Salesforce

Adam Epstein, Director of Undergraduate Enrollment Services & Jeffrey Caglarcan, Salesforce Administrator, Undergraduate Enrollment Services, Worcester Polytechnic Institute

This session will focus on efficiencies Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Undergraduate Enrollment Services has gained using native Salesforce functionality and various third party tools. Learn how we automate data cleanup and validation, quality assurance checks, and regular scheduled tasks while balancing load on our shared, campus wide Salesforce instance with no code required. We will focus on several specific products and platforms, but these concepts can be applied with other ETL tools and technologies. Basic understanding of Salesforce reports and formula fields will be helpful but not required.

Wait! Should we even be doing this!? - and Other Questions You Should Ask Yourself

Kory Gilderman, Business Analyist / Project Manager, The College of St. Scholastica

How can the leaders of project teams be sure that they are working on “the right thing?”

Student Success: Roadmap for Re-enrollment

Laura Carnes, Director, Student Engagement and Success & Karlee Christian, Director, Student Life, USC Palmetto

USC Palmetto College encompasses four campuses with four differing reporting structures. However, all four campuses utilize, and must agree upon the functionality of Target X Recruitment Suite. After implementing and working with IT staff to make sure the product delivered what was needed functionally, Palmetto College began working through issues with the “human” side of the product – and we aren’t talking user errors.

As all four campuses agreed the recruitment product would be an asset, a dialogue began at two of the campuses regarding how this technology could be the next step in building an organized and data driven student engagement, success, and re-enrollment process. Que Target X Retention Suite. Throughout the implementation of Retention Suite we realized the usage of the product not only enhances communication and tracking of students, but also drives cultural change and initiatives across the university because of our ability to combine the outputs of both Recruitment and Retention Suite. Additionally, through the buildout, we were able to identify and rectify barriers to re-enrollment that may have been overlooked.
