Client Support & Training Specialist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Client Support and Training Specialist with a passion for supporting customer success to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, prior experience in either technical support or training, and the aptitude to learn new software. The Client Support and Training Specialist will primarily serve as front­-line support for new and existing clients, assist in the management of documentation and an online client support community, and conduct on­-site and virtual training sessions.

Goals and Objectives: 

  • Provide top-­level support by making every customer interaction stand out for its friendliness, warmth and helpfulness.
  • Communicate clearly and directly to help center cases submitted online and by phone.
  • Resolve problems efficiently and effectively by clarifying issues, researching and exploring possible causes, and providing solutions.

CRM Consultant (Sales Development Representative/Inside Sales)

Reports to: Regional VP of Sales
Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Philadelphia
Travel Requirements: 20-35%

Job Summary:

TargetX is seeking a consultative sales development professional who is passionate about applying technology to improve the recruitment and retention of students in higher education. The CRM Consultant (sales development representative) is responsible for cultivating new business opportunities for selling a suite of technology products and services to colleges and universities, including TargetX’s Recruitment CRM and Retention CRM solutions. The position is entrepreneurial and those who succeed in this role are 1) familiar with and passionate about higher education and higher education technology, 2) excellent problem solvers, and  3) successfully able to build relationships with all levels of staff within a university.  

The CRM Consultant assists the field sales team in all parts of the sales process, from the cold calls and rebuttals, and to the close. The key objectives are to establish and grow a book of business while working closely with our field sales team to produce custom proposals and ensure customer satisfaction.

Professionals without sales experience will be considered if 1) they have strong experience in higher ed and 2) have relevant experience working with technology within higher ed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a lead generation plan to generate a sales pipeline and support monthly,  quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Develop and support account and opportunity strategies to win new business in collaboration with account executives in their respective territories.
  • Lead prospects through initial sales cycle. This includes prospecting and managing inbound leads.  
  • Discover new business opportunities as well as manage relationships with existing customer base and renewal sales for specific products.
  • Engage with prospects in a consultative process to thoroughly assess their needs and propose appropriate services.  
  • Research the marketplace for new potential customers, as well as identify new marketing content for existing customer base – information usually found by using external information sources i.e. internet, industry publications, competitor websites, referrals etc.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on lead generation projects.
  • Ensure successful sales through professional and timely responses, sound knowledge of services available, and timely sales execution.
  • Travel as required to prospects, customers, or marketing events.

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 6 months – 3 years of overall work experience with track record of success in consultative sales and solution selling of SaaS applications or IT consulting services; or background in management consulting, IT strategy, or technical sales support is highly preferred. Professionals without sales experience will be considered if 1) they have strong experience in higher ed and 2) have relevant experience working with technology within higher ed.
  • Strong ability to prospect new contacts within small, medium, and large universities using creative cold calling techniques and online tools such as Linkedin.  
  • Obvious passion for higher ed, technology, and technical sales with deep experience in or serving higher ed.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with experience using technology to improve organizational processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact and communicate with all levels of an organization both internally and externally at a school.
  • Ability to quickly learn the products, audience profile, and TargetX’s unique selling points.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Force.com and AppExchange offerings a huge plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage the execution of several strategic and cross-functional projects.

  • The position will be in either the San Francisco Bay Area office/Philadelphia Office.

Implementation Consultant

Reports to: Director, Implementation
Location: Nationwide, with preference for San Francisco Bay Area and Midwest region
Travel Requirements: 20%

Job Summary:

We are looking for Implementation Consultants of all levels with Salesforce experience and the technical aptitude to learn and grow. As an Implementation Consultant, you will play an important role within the Implementation Team by executing and implementing TargetX solutions for our higher education clients. You will report to the Director of Implementation and work closely with Project Managers and Solutions Architects to implement projects efficiently and effectively.

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Familiarity with and experience utilizing and configuring on the Salesforce platform
  • Obtained or desire to obtain one or more Salesforce.com certifications (Developer Certification, Advance Developer Certification is desired.) (DEV-401 and DEV-501)

Project Manager

Reports to: Director, Client Success
Location: Preference for Philadelphia, PA or Oakland, CA
Travel Requirements: 25-35%

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience managing the implementation of CRM projects. As a Project Manager, you must have strong leadership and motivational skills to direct the project team effectively and to drive implementation both creatively and efficiently. You will report to the Director of Client Success and work closely with client and internal teams. The Project Manager will be a key member of the Implementation Team and will be responsible and accountable for successful implementation of multiple TargetX CRM solutions for colleges and universities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a clear understanding of client business process, needs and requirements.
  • Establish the project’s overall critical path and success factors, develop project plan, and ensure that all project phases adhere to the agreed-upon timeline.
  • Monitor the execution of all deliverables and milestones across projects and update project plans actively.
  • Manage internal and external resources and ensure that the project team has the necessary information and skill sets to complete the project successfully and on-time.
  • Prioritize, mitigate and monitor project risks and their impact.
  • Assist project team in troubleshooting and finding solutions to unforeseen issues.
  • Communicate regularly with and manage expectations of clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Take ownership of, manage and obtain approvals for all change requests, particularly regarding scope and budget in partnership with the Account Executive.
  • Leverage and help develop standard tools to manage the project – i.e. project plan, risk log status report, etc.

Senior Developer

Reports to: VP, Engineering
Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Philadelphia

Job Summary:

TargetX is looking for seasoned developers to lead and develop CRM and mobile applications. Ideally The right candidate is a versatile developer who has solid experience in developing front-end and backend enterprise software, proficient at least in two of the following technologies: Java, JavaScript, Ruby-on-Rails, Salesforce.

 

Goals and Objectives:

The right candidate is a strong team player, collaborator, customer focused and has a passion in bringing cutting edge products from conception to market. S/he must work well cross functionally with Technical Architect, UX designer, Product Managers, and QA. S/he is comfortable to work in high pressured, agile environment, at times wearing multiple hats. You will guide and contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of a number of products. You will also assist with designing future state technology architectural designs and roadmap. This position requires strong object oriented skills and working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns.

To be successful in this position, the candidate must have experience working in an agile development environment and understand the importance of designing sleek products with scalability and performance in mind. S/he needs to be a great cultural fit who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys problem solving.

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Techinical Skills: Java, JavaScript, Ruby-On-Rails, Web Programming Skills, Web User Interface Design, Software Requirements, Agile, Object-Oriented Design (OOD), SalesForce, SOAP, jQuery, HTML, Multimedia Content Development, Software Debugging, Jenkins

Senior Sales Engineer

Reports to: Regional Vice President, Sales
Location: Conshohocken, PA
Travel Requirements: 60%

Job Summary:

The senior sales engineer is the primary technical resource for the sales team. The senior sales engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Success will be defined as successful achievement of overall team sales goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the solution identification and demonstration stages of the sales process, including primary support for sales team in performing discovery around customer’s technical requirements, and managing solution development for multiple sales opportunities at any given point in time.
  • Lead the technical and product response portions of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Coordinate with the implementation, product, and marketing teams internally to ensure that all solutions are properly positioned and to provide product and market feedback.
  • Work cross-functionally on sales enablement projects. Improving internal sales tools and processes, including RFP templates and repository.
  • Train account executives on product knowledge, including launch of new products, demo training.
  • Able to travel throughout sales territories.
  • Stay informed of new features (both internally developed features and third party components) that can be added to the demo, including custom demo sites in response to RFPs or scripted demo requests
  • Represent our solutions and capabilities at events such as webinars, conferences, seminars, etc.

Experienced Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales, software consulting, or higher education enrollment operations. Must be highly knowledgeable of Salesforce technology and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

  • 5+ years relevant experience in technical sales (experience in the higher education vertical is a plus)
  • Obvious passion for technology and technical sales with deep experience with CRM, SaaS, web technologies and APIs
  • Excellent phone and in-person presentation skills and excellent written communication skills
  • Proven knowledge of the Salesforce platform, admin certification preferred.
  • Consistent record of over-achievement and sales execution
  • Experience working on and completing strategic and cross-functional projects
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred

Solutions Consultant

We are looking for a Solutions Consultant with experience in CRM implementations. As a Solutions Consultant, you must have strong business analysis and communication skills, with deep familiarity with CRM technology, in order to understand client’s business requirements / pain points and translate these into solutions requirements and functional specifications for each project. Reporting to the Director of Project Services and working closely with both client and internal teams, the Solutions Consultant will be a key member of the Implementation Team, responsible for setting the strategic direction for CRM implementations across multiple colleges and universities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a clear understanding of client business process, needs and requirements
  • Lead discovery sessions and documents client’s requirements.
  • Advise, design, and propose solutions to client that are within scope of the contract and product.
  • Write and deliver complete and properly documented functional specifications for the approved solution hypothesis to fulfillment team who will implement the configuration.
  • Translate functional and technical specifications to project team and client.
  • Assist project team in troubleshooting and finding solutions to unforeseen issues
  • Create, maintain, and update internal documentation and guides for solution consulting at TargetX
