Account Executive

Reports to: Regional Vice President, Sales
Location: Nationwide

Job Summary:

The Sales and Marketing Team at TargetX is looking for a Sales Executive who is passionate about higher education and interested in selling software services. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated, business orientated individual who is looking to build a successful career in sales or education technology. The candidate will also have a strong desire to work in education or higher education and enjoy working as part of a close knit team, yet have the skills and drive to be successful as an individual. This position will provide a great opportunity to work closely with sales, marketing and other departments within TargetX and with leading colleges and universities.

Goals and Objectives for this role:

  • Engage with prospects via telephone and email, following sales cycle from prospect to successful deal closure. This includes providing prompt responses to every inbound lead and delivering demos as needed.
  • Identify and create new qualified sales opportunities for account managers from inbound leads and outbound sales initiatives and programs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on lead generation projects.
  • Ensure customers are successful through professional and timely responses, sound knowledge of services available, and timely sales execution.

Implementation Consultant

Reports to: Director, Implementation
Location: Nationwide, with preference for San Francisco Bay Area and Midwest region
Travel Requirements: 20%

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Implementation Consultant with Salesforce experience and the technical aptitude to learn and grow. As an Implementation Consultant, you will play an important role within the Implementation Team by executing and implementing TargetX solutions for our higher education clients. You will report to the Director of Implementation and work closely with Project Managers and Solutions Architects to implement projects efficiently and effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Customize TargetX’s products in client Salesforce instance, including but not limited to, configuration, setting security parameters, and data migration/integration
  • Ensure successful projects by executing implementation tasks according to client requirements and within determined deadlines
  • Manage implementation tasks across the multiple client and internal projects
  • Understand the product implementation requirements from the business and technical aspects
  • Problem-solve and escalate any challenges or issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure completed work is properly documented for client acceptance
  • Update implementation templates and related artifacts to ensure continuous improvement of materials and to incorporate lessons-learned from facilitated post-Implementation reviews

Project Manager

Reports to: Director, Client Success
Location: Preference for Philadelphia, PA or Oakland, CA
Travel Requirements: 25-35%

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience managing the implementation of CRM projects. As a Project Manager, you must have strong leadership and motivational skills to direct the project team effectively and to drive implementation both creatively and efficiently. You will report to the Director of Client Success and work closely with client and internal teams. The Project Manager will be a key member of the Implementation Team and will be responsible and accountable for successful implementation of multiple TargetX CRM solutions for colleges and universities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a clear understanding of client business process, needs and requirements.
  • Establish the project’s overall critical path and success factors, develop project plan, and ensure that all project phases adhere to the agreed-upon timeline.
  • Monitor the execution of all deliverables and milestones across projects and update project plans actively.
  • Manage internal and external resources and ensure that the project team has the necessary information and skill sets to complete the project successfully and on-time.
  • Prioritize, mitigate and monitor project risks and their impact.
  • Assist project team in troubleshooting and finding solutions to unforeseen issues.
  • Communicate regularly with and manage expectations of clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Take ownership of, manage and obtain approvals for all change requests, particularly regarding scope and budget in partnership with the Account Executive.
  • Leverage and help develop standard tools to manage the project – i.e. project plan, risk log status report, etc.

Goals and Objectives:

The top objective of this position is to ensure that our clients experience a successful CRM implementation. The person in this role will be successful if:

  • CRM projects are implemented on-time.
  • Clients are satisfied with the implementation and feel supported throughout the process.
  • CRM is being used strategically and actively by the client team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Client Support and Training Specialist with a passion for supporting customer success to join our growing team. iOS Engineer

Reports to: Software Engineering Manager
Location: Philadelphia, PA or Oakland, CA

TargetX is engineering a more social higher education. We are looking to add an extremely talented iOS Engineer to our technical team. Tech smarts and sheer intelligence are a must. We work with 400+ universities and are seeing constant growth. We’ve got some seriously interesting technical challenges, and you’ll be building apps that will be used by students across the country to help them find their best
school and make real connections with their future classmates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop iOS applications.
  • Work in tandem with an Android developer to deliver releases on time for both platforms.
  • Deliver quality user experience based on wireframes and high-res designs.

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience developing, releasing, and maintaining native iOS Applications (point us to your apps on the App Store).
  • Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK.
  • Cocoapods.

  • Objective-C (of course).

PHP Software Developer

Reports to: VP, Development
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Summary:

TargetX provides enterprise wide CRM software to higher education clients. Our software is built on Salesforce’s force.com platform. The focus for this position will be on building PHP code. As part of the development team, over time you will begin to create and maintain features in our system using Salesforce’s Visual Force (a markup language) and APEX (essentially Java) languages as well as JavaScript. You will program automated Salesforce unit tests and may also program automated user level tests in a Selenium based environment. And you’ll have a blast doing it in our fun, passionate environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver working PHP code on agreed schedule with positive customer results for quality and utility
  • Attain and maintain Salesforce Advanced developer certification
  • Develop an understanding of higher education business processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of our development process and our products

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience writing PHP code
  • Salesforce APEX (preferred) and Visual Force code desired but not required

Salesforce Architect

Our software is delivered via multiple managed Salesforce packages and also includes server components and native mobile applications. These applications operate in Salesforce orgs with other app exchange products and customer specific applications. As architect, you will lead the technical approach to deliver our standard product roadmap. This includes identifying opportunities to exploit native Salesforce features, guiding our data model and helping the development team follow best salesforce practices. Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver architectures which achieve required functions, interoperate well with other code in the customer environments, and do not require significant customer action during version upgrades

Software Test Engineer

Reports to: VP, Development

Goals and Objectives for this role:

  • Plan, create and maintain tests that allow us to deliver tested versions on time with ever decreasing defect rates.
  • Create and run Selenium based automated tests. Maintain clear traceability of tests by product, feature and version. Identify, analyze, and document any defects discovered during testing.
  • Develop an understanding of higher education business processes. This is key to making sure our tests are relevant to how our clients use our product.
  • Innovate test environment for continuous improvement in effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous innovation of our products. This includes working with colleagues across the company to help shape requirements for new features.

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Salesforce experience as a user, tester, developer or administrator preferred.
  • Selenium based automated testing highly preferred.
  • Experience with Jenkins continuous integration tool a plus.
  • Experience developing test plans, scenarios and cases.
  • Agile development methodology preferred.
  • Experience performing manual software testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field.

Vice President, Client Services

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Philadelphia, PA or Oakland, CA
Travel Requirements: Up to 50%

Job Summary:

TargetX is looking for an experienced executive manager to lead our growing client services department. The department is comprised of three teams, each led by a director level manager — 1) customer success, 2) implementations, and 3) training and support (standard and premium) — that represent the entire client lifecycle at TargetX. The right candidate will be a great cultural fit and must be able to comfortably adjust from tactical to strategic depending on the situation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for the three teams mentioned above, ensuring that every client has an optimal experience with TargetX starting pre-sales through the renewal process.
  • Work with COO to develop goals and objectives for the department, then working with the managers within the department to develop strategies and plans to achieve the goals and objectives. The plans should include clear methodologies, job descriptions, staffing plans, and processes for each phase of the client lifecycle.
  • Implement reporting capabilities to track, monitor, and measure the status and effectiveness of all of our client facing activities
  • Collaborate with R&D to ensure that implementation and support teams have the tools they need to perform their jobs.
  • Provide strategic input to the product, development and client services teams to ensure that our products and services are meeting client expectations and needs
  • Support our sales teams by helping with proposal generation, RFP responses, and prospect meetings
  • Create a culture that is client centric, team focused, and committed to continuous improvement

Experience Required and Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Undergraduate degree from a selective university is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Candidates should have at least 15 years of business experience in software with at least 5 years experience in project management or client services. Management consulting, higher ed, and Salesforce experience are highly desirable.
  • Must be familiar with the needs of a rapidly growing company and be flexible and adaptable enough to succeed in a fast paced environment
  • Proven staff management, strategic planning, and budget management experience
  • Strong experience with building and leading large teams
  • Strong client management and relationship building skills
  • Strong understanding of implementation methodologies, project management frameworks, and customer service approaches are required.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills are a must
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders, resources, management, support staff, and third party vendors
